|
We highly encourage all members to contact us via email or in writing for security purposes. Email will be much faster in answering basic questions than phoning. Email and address information is available on our Contact page. Please review FAQ below and read the Summary and Benefits section to see if your inquiry is covered here before contacting CPS. Your questions are very important to our success in delivering the most comprehensive credit protection and identity theft deterrence program available to the public. |
| Question: When I sign up will my credit report be run and if so, will it negatively impact my credit score or rating? |
| Answer: When you sign up for CPS the three major bureaus are obligated to provide you a copy of your credit report for free within 90 days. This will not show as an inquiry and it will not negatively impact your credit score or rating. |
| Question: How does CPS assure me that my personal data supplied will be safe guarded against fraud? |
| Answer: CPS does not store any vital client information on computers. Your Data is saved in original files and is kept under lock and key, the old-fashion way. CPS does not have access to your personal credit report data at any time. |
| Question: Why should I trust doing business with CPS? |
| Answer: CPS is committed to delivering the most comprehensive credit fraud and identity theft deterrence service available. Credit Security is a highly needed service with the recent surge in electronic crime. |
| Question: How is CPS different from other similar services available through the individual bureaus? |
| Answer: Good Question! CPS consolidates your efforts to put all the safeguards in place in one process. You can sign up for individual services with each bureau and creditor, along with dozens of written requests and individual programs, and still not effectively obtain what CPS has wrapped into one service. Our Program saves you time and money. We are not aware of any program available that does what we offer. |
| Question: What if I am signing up with my spouse and we use different last names? |
| Answer: No problem, just inform us of this fact and you will only be billed the married rate. |
| Question: What if my driver’s license has a different address than my current mailing address or phone bill? |
| Answer: CPS’s Program requires that your valid ID, mailing address, phone bill, and Credit Card being charged for CPS service fees all utilize the same address for security and quality control compliance. If you utilize a PO Box then simply submit a mail forward to your local post office every 12 months. |
| Question: What if I do not want a copy of my credit report after signing up? | |
| Answer: The bureaus will only send your free report so long as you submit your Consumer Request for Copy of Credit Transcript Form CPS upon signing up, otherwise you will not get any reports. It is not mandatory to receive a report. | |
